What Emergency Water Work Covers
Houston Water Damage Pros provides emergency water extraction and drying for water affecting homes or buildings in the Houston area. Work may include site review, standing-water removal, air movement, dehumidification, moisture checks, and documentation.
We follow applicable practices from IICRC S500 Professional Water Damage Restoration and use reasonable safety controls for wet conditions. Electrical hazards may require coordination under NFPA 70E guidance.
Mold assessment or remediation is separate work and may involve Texas Occupations Code Chapter 1958 Mold requirements. Hazardous exposure response follows OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 HAZWOPER when applicable.
Disposal and wastewater handling must follow the EPA Resource Conservation and Recovery Act and TCEQ rules. Structural reconstruction, permitted flood repairs under the Houston Building Code, contents restoration, mold services, and insurance claim representation require a separate written agreement.
City of Houston Public Works, FEMA, TDLR, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, or other agencies may have additional requirements.
Appointments, Notice, and Requested Changes
Appointments are arranged by phone or email and depend on crew availability, access, site safety, and the urgency of the water event. The agreed arrival window is an estimate rather than a guaranteed time unless the written agreement says otherwise.
Please provide working access, utility information, and notice of pets, occupants, hazards, or building restrictions before arrival. Cancel or move an appointment as soon as possible so we can release the crew and update the work plan.
A cancellation may leave the customer responsible for work already performed, travel, equipment delivery, or other approved costs. A scope change means a request that adds, removes, or changes work after approval.
We will explain the change and seek customer approval before beginning added services when practical. Emergency conditions may require immediate steps to protect people or property, with details documented afterward.
Written Quotes and Payment Responsibilities
Houston Water Damage Pros bases estimates on visible conditions, reported information, access, affected materials, equipment needs, drying progress, and the services approved at the time. An estimate is not a promise that hidden damage or additional labor will not be found after water is removed.
The written quote or service agreement identifies the approved scope, charges, and payment terms. Payment is due according to that document.
Insurance involvement does not remove the customer’s responsibility to pay amounts not covered by a carrier. If conditions require added equipment, labor, disposal, monitoring, or other work, we will explain the reason and request approval before proceeding when practical.
Customer-requested changes may affect the schedule and total. Work outside emergency extraction and drying, including reconstruction, mold remediation, or specialty cleaning, is not included unless separately listed in writing.
What Any Workmanship Promise Covers
Houston Water Damage Pros stands behind the workmanship expressly described in the written estimate, invoice, or service agreement. The applicable warranty period, if offered, is the period stated in that document; no different oral duration applies.
A workmanship warranty concerns our approved services and does not guarantee that a property will remain free of later leaks, humidity, mold, plumbing failures, weather damage, or other causes outside our control. Coverage may not apply when another person alters the work, when the customer denies reasonable access for inspection or correction, when recommended repairs are declined, or when conditions arise from pre-existing damage or improper maintenance.
It also does not expand the agreed scope to include reconstruction, concealed defects, contents, or mold treatment unless those items are written into the agreement. Contact us promptly with a concern so we can review records and determine whether corrective work falls within the written warranty.
Responsibility for Site Risks and Losses
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Houston Water Damage Pros’ responsibility for a claim arising from approved services is limited to the amount paid for the specific service giving rise to that claim. We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions, concealed defects, continuing leaks, delayed access, refused recommendations, unsafe utilities, mold growth, or damage caused by third parties or events beyond our control.
Water work can reveal damage that existed before our arrival. Drying results also depend on building materials, temperature, ventilation, power, and timely decisions by the customer.
Our work is performed with applicable guidance in mind, including IICRC S500, Texas Occupations Code Chapter 1958 Mold, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 HAZWOPER, NFPA 70E wet-site safety, Houston Building Code requirements, and TCEQ discharge rules when relevant. Nothing here waives rights or duties that cannot legally be waived under Texas law.

The updated version applies to future work after its stated effective date unless applicable law requires a different result. If a conflict exists, the signed service agreement controls for that project.
